Itinerary

Day 1: Trip to Katon Karagay (Rahmanov Springs) (470 km, 8 hours of driving)

▸Along the way, we will enjoy the scenic views of the Katon-Karagay Nature Park.
We will make stops and get out to appreciate the nature.
▸Lunch in the village Berel
▸We will explore the Rahmanov Springs.
▸Take a boat ride on the lake and see the highest point in Kazakhstan, Mount Belukha and visit Waterfall near Lake
▸A walk around the Lake, We will visit the observation platforms.
▸Enjoy a cup of ponkatarin (traditional Kazakh tea).
▸Enjoy bathing in natural hot springs by the evening
▸And coming back to Berel village to our guest house and have a dinner

Day 2: We are heading towards Lake Yazovoy (28km, about 1 hour)

In the morning after breakfast, we’ll set off towards Lake Yazovoye. The road is in poor condition,
so we’ll be traveling by jeep. Nestled in the highlands, the lake stands as a pristine natural wonder.
It is home to a single species of fish – the Ide. Upon reaching the lake, we’ll enjoy an outdoor lunch,
taking advantage of the remote location and the lack of crowds to immerse ourselves in the untouched wilderness.
From this vantage point, we can see the peaks of Belukha Mountain, the highest in Kazakhstan.
After our adventure at the lake, we’ll return to Berel in the evening to dine and retire for the night.

Day 3: Visiting the Berel Mound, museum, and the ancient burial site of the kings of the ancient Turks and visiting river Bukhturma

▸Breakfast
▸Travel by car to the Berel Valley, where one of the most significant archaeological sites in Kazakhstan is located –
the Berel burial mound, which is the tomb of a Saka king. Here you can see original Saka and Turkic finds and visit the Golden Tree Museum.
▸Visit the burial place of the Saka Kings
▸Visit the national museum, where you can learn about the culture and history of the Saka and Turkic period in this region
▸Lunch by the Bukhtarma River.
▸A stroll by the river, through nature, and exploration of the surroundings.
▸In the evening, we will return to the guesthouse.

Day 4: Visiting the easternmost point of Kazakhstan, the village of Arshaty, located at the intersection of the borders of Kazakhstan, China, and Russia

We will head towards Arshaty, where there is a wildlife reserve
home to some of Kazakhstan’s rarest animals, including snow leopards, lynxes, and marals.
Accompanied by a reserve ranger, we will visit the interesting and beautiful spots within this sanctuary.
With luck, we’ll spot some of the animals and birds, and also enjoy a lunch in nature,
nestled among the trees in a wooden cabin. In the evening, we will return to the guesthouse.

Day 5: Katon-Karagay

Here, we will live in a yurt, drink kumys (specially made horse milk), eat traditional cuisine, and live like true Kazakhs,
riding horses and visiting the beautiful places of the region, including mountains, rivers, and plains.

Day 6: We will head towards the Kiyn Kerish Gorge.(310 km, 5 hours drive)

Kiin-Kerish is a remarkable creation of nature, known for its colorful rock formations.
It feels as if you are on Mars, surrounded by a vibrant red ground.
The area features canyons and many other fascinating sights
▸Here you can enjoy the most beautiful landscapes
▸Visit the Shekelmes tract
▸Visit Lake Zaysan
▸In the evening, we’ll either drive back home to the city or stay at a local hotel

Day 7: Travel towards Ridder, to the Rodonovoye Lake (156km, 3 hours)

▸Breakfast
▸Arrive in Ridder
▸We will be greeted by a special vehicle
▸Visit the Rodonovoye Lake (a lake that was discovered during the search for radon in the Soviet era,
a very beautiful place on the mountain top)
▸Reach the lake
▸Lunch in a tent (prepared by a chef)
▸Hiking and exploring the area
▸Returning to the city in the evening
