Embark on a captivating winter tour in Almaty, beginning with a thrilling day at Shymbulak Ski Resort. Ascend the picturesque Alatau mountains, indulge in winter sports, and explore the resort's three distinct parts. Day two takes you to the adventurous Oy Karagai, where winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy activities like ziplining and stay overnight in charming treehouse accommodations. On the third day, immerse yourself in the frozen beauty of Big Almaty Lake and the enchanting Ayu Sai spot before exploring Turgensky Gorge with its scenic winter waterfall. Each day promises a unique blend of adventure and winter wonders.

Itinerary

Day 1: Shymbulak

▸We will pick you up from your hotel and head towards the Shymbulak Ski Resort. Using the cable car, we will ascend to the high-altitude region of Alatau, where our resort is located. The resort is divided into three parts, and we will start from the bottom. Here, you can rent equipment for skiing and snowboarding, including skis, snowboards, and goggles. If you are not familiar with skiing, you can also rent an instructor for an hour to teach you the basics.
▸On the first and lowest part of the resort, there are numerous activities to enjoy. You can take photos with falconers, explore various cafes and restaurants, and have a delightful lunch. Then, if you are comfortable skiing, you can ascend to higher levels and experience skiing on the majestic mountains.
▸In the evening, I will take you back to your hotel

Day 2: Oi Karagai

▸After breakfast, we will head towards the winter ski resort “Oy Karagai,” where you can actively engage in winter sports.
▸The resort offers various winter activities, including a thrilling zipline experience on the mountains. Additionally, you have the option to stay overnight in treehouse accommodations, offering excellent rooms in charming wooden cabins nestled in the trees. The resort also hosts various games in a large yurt at the center, attracting numerous tourists and guests.

Day 3: Big Almaty Lake and Tugen Gorge

▸After breakfast, we will head to the vast Almaty Lake (10 km). You can spend a wonderful day at the frozen lake. Before reaching the lake, there is a charming spot called Ayu Sai, nestled in a gorge. Here, you can rent cabins for couples with beautiful views and a winter atmosphere. In the evening, a bonfire lighting ceremony takes place, providing a cozy gathering for people to socialize.
▸Following the visit to Big Almaty Lake, we will continue towards the Turgensky Gorge. We will drive through the road between the Turgensky Gorge mountains and visit a winter waterfall.
